What does a Disability Support Worker do?
Disability Support Workers assist individuals with disabilities to perform a variety of daily tasks. These can include:
- Personal care — helping with bathing, dressing and grooming.
- Household support — assisting with cleaning, cooking and general household tasks.
- Community engagement — accompanying clients to appointments, social activities and events.
- Mobility assistance — helping with mobility devices and physical tasks.
You'll support people to live independently, achieve personal goals and improve their quality of life.

Qualifications & requirements
Starting a career in disability support doesn't require formal qualifications, but there are a few things you'll need to begin:
- Entry-level: no formal qualifications are required to start.
- First Aid & CPR: a current certificate so you can respond appropriately in an emergency.
- NDIS Worker Screening Check: required to ensure the safety of our participants — we can assist you in obtaining this.
Training & career growth
While no qualifications are needed to get started, there are opportunities for further training to advance your career. Depending on your interests, you may want to pursue:
- Certificate IV in Disability
- Certifications in Mental Health or Aged Care
- Leadership development program
